Our broad range of expertise means we can help you find a bulk materials weighing system which will not only afford the fine level of control needed for your application, but also prove efficient and sustainable to operate over time. We will work closely with you to provide a system that meets all your needs, whilst improving automation, efficiency, accuracy and output.
STB’s wealth of experience in providing weighing and feeding systems ensures the correct system is installed to achieve the most cost effective and technically appropriate results. Bulk material handling systems we frequently supply include:
- Volumetric feeders and dosing screws
- Silo weighing systems
- Process weigh hoppers and batch weighing equipment
- Loss-in-Weight systems, gravimetric feeders
- Automated weigh and feed control
- Mechanical handling and conveying systems
‘Gain-in-Weight’ and ‘Loss-in-Weight’ are the most widely adapted solutions for ingredient and product weighing systems. These weighing systems are designed to suit batching or continuous feed requirements.
A ‘Gain-in-Weight’ batching system will typically involve a screw feeder or other volumetric metering device, which transfers the product or ingredient to a hopper on load cells. An industrial weight scale is used to move the process on when the batch reaches the correct weight.
A ‘Loss-in-Weight’ batching system incorporates gravimetric feeding devices, such as a metering screw feeder or vibratory feeders, which are mounted on individual load cells or scales. A ‘Loss-in-Weight’ feeder can be used for batch weighing the correct proportion of ingredients in each batch.
Processes which employ continuous and volumetric feeding may require a different kind of weighing system. All industrial weighing equipment supplied by STB Engineering is tailored to your needs, dependent on the complexity and required accuracy of the application.
